Section titled “The Honest Question”Web3 isn’t for everyone. Some communities thrive with spreadsheets, group chats, and bank accounts. Adding blockchain doesn’t automatically make things better.
When Web3 Adds Value

- You want programmable governance (automatic execution of decisions)
- You’re coordinating across borders or jurisdictions
- You want to connect to the broader Web3 ecosystem (funding, tools, community)
- You value immutable records of decisions and transactions
When Web3 Doesn’t Add Value
Section titled “When Web3 Doesn’t Add Value”- Your group is small (under 10) and high-trust
- Financial activity is minimal
- Members aren’t tech-comfortable and don’t want to learn
- A spreadsheet does everything you need
- You’re adding complexity for its own sake
Questions to Ask

- Are our members willing to learn new tools?
- Do we have at least 2-3 people who can support others technically?
- Is the added complexity justified by the benefits?
- Could we start with a simpler tool and upgrade later?
The Hybrid Approach
Section titled “The Hybrid Approach”Most communities benefit from a hybrid: use Web3 where it adds clear value (treasury management, governance voting) and traditional tools where it doesn’t (communication, scheduling, document management).
Moving Forward
